Recently unmasked by angry fellow paranormal investigator, the man of many nicknames and identities, now in his 30s, who claims to be a “pure” urban explorer (but never mentions he was ex-paranormal investigator for the past 10 years).
==========================================================================================
SGHC's leader, Shariff cites his reasons for exposing long time paranormal investigator, we shall call him Hajime for now (pseudonym used, not real name, he never used his real name online anyway), previously from the groups FreakyLinks (2001), SgFreakyLinks (2007), collaboration with SGUrbEx (2003-2006) and now in *Urban Explorers of Singapore (UESG, May 2010) and local parkour group PKSG.
Shariff, after meeting the said person on a number of occasions for outings and paranormal investigations. Felt Hajime's stories and claims were rather far-fetched and dates/numbers do not tally, decided to dig into past records and information online to verify. Discovering past online articles of Hajime had contained inaccurate information/facts, terrible language proficiency, in certain instances regarding rumours as truth/proof and even blatant leeching of photos from other urbex groups.
It also known that Hajime does a cut and paste job for most of his articles on the internet, copying info wholesale, often resulting in wrong data presentation. Such 'laborious' process that we are unable to see, would be labelled by him as 'his research'.
Following the trails of discontent online, Shariff found out that Hajime, apart from having riled a number of groups from the local paranormal/urbex fraternity in the past (eg. Supernatural led by Mr.Fahmi, API led by the Goh brothers, Singapore Urban Explorers led by Aaron & Eric).
He has constantly changed nicknames to avoid his bad reputation catching up with him. Membership of his previous paranormal groups suffered a high turn-over rate, often getting chopped and changed when relationships turned sour during his regime of the groups he created. A person of paranoia, constantly installing bugging/tracking widgets or scripts in his websites, gathering information on whoever visits his sites. With Facebook, more at ease hiding behind a nickname, he monitors real people with real identities, whoever happens to 'likes' his page. And he's suspicious of everyone, even those who he is able to call "nakama, ohana or family" but ditch them the very next day if he felt like it. It's that scary.
With his recent antics of masquerading as another local urbex group (SGUrbEx) and using locally made movie Haunted Changi as a stepping stone to shamelessly boost his profile despite proud claims of denying the existence of the paranormal. And now as well, claiming strong support to SLA, to report on anyone who would have the intention of visiting Old Changi Hospital. Of course, SLA has not commented nor gave recognition of their intentions. So we can safely assume it’s a simple act of voluntary citizen vigilance (or simply a case of publicity act) on their part. Ok for the benefit of doubt, we shall give him a little sticker for praise for this little act.
Other activities to boast of his exploits and often invite members of the public to "Like" his group in popular social website Facebook. Citing his group as the ‘first ever’ urban exploration group in Singapore to promote ‘100% urban exploration topics’, often claiming to be “the first ever” group to visit or discover locations/sites and supposedly highly educational in terms for the nation’s historical past – all seemingly tall claims now a state of ad naseum. His current group’s members in a state of euphoria are still oblivious to the precarious social state of their co-founding leader is in.
Apparently Hajime has a delusional habit of coercing his fellow members to create self-endearing home videos glorifying his acts of not-so-adventurous pursuits, appending bombastic words as project names thereafter to generate a false impression of sophistication. For those who had gone on exploration forays with him, would know he doesn't have the same bravado he acts in his videos. Often shouting, screaming and doing awkward poses to hide his insecurity and fear in the dark. Very un-urbex-like. This sometimes lead to his acts of vandalism to show false bravery.
His attention seeking and ungracious behaviour of declaring hatred and spite for all those who disagrees with him, to the extent of using personal information of his intended target to hurt or to embarrass. All these had led to Hajime being labelled as hypocritical, self-righteous, a freeloader, a vengeful troll, a angst-y braggart and over the top feistiness towards females, and many other not-so-kind labels.
Especially when he claimed back in late 2006 in front of at least 3 other SGUrbEx members, that he hated urban exploration because it was boring, and would want to do something paranormal-ly extreme. Explorations were done mostly at night, and not in the day when photography was obviously more conducive with more light. Simply put, he found urban exploration a bore.
Appropriately for his plans, he found an excuse to pick a fight with Aaron of SGUrbEx - not being able to send him home by car after an outing, because he had to send home, his then girlfriend(now wife) and two other SGUrbEx members who stay in Aaron's flat. This may seem petty, but perhaps it's all part of his elaborate plan.
Even when Andrew of SGUrbEx tried to pacify and find out the reasons for the quarrel, he too became fodder for Hajime's elaborate hate campaign. Next hate target was the female member of the group who had apparently spurned his advances. Next up, he tried to force another two newer members to take sides, and split off to form another group. It was a good thing, nobody followed him (except the webmaster).
The above reasons were never mentioned online, as SGUrbEx initially preferred to keep dirty linens out of public view, but it set them back badly. They laid dormant for two years without a website having lost all their articles, which is still kept by Hajime on the webmaster's database. Fortunately for SGUrbEx, they still have in hand and hold copyrights to much of the photos and videos created during 2003-2007. This can further be proven by the ownership of photos in original resolution and size.
Eventually SgFreakyLinks was formed when he left SGUrbEx (or he claimed he was kicked out from). And only in 2010, May, did SgFreakyLinks changed their name, thinking SGUrbEx was dead and buried for good. Much to Hajime's dismay, as anyone can see as he tries to profusely promote his new group and himself. Misleading many to believe his new group was SGUrbEx, even Charles of API expressed surprise initially but soon found out it wasn't the real deal.
With such, Shariff feeling a dire need to inform and warn the general public, hence setting up a Facebook page (A.G.A.B – Exposing the truth). In addition of moral support, came from two individuals who left Hajime’s SgFreakyLinks group previously, the group which eventually collapsed when the only person left supporting was his friend, the 'long service award' winning webmaster who had faithfully provided Hajime with domain hosting and online space for perhaps 10 years running now. It’s only a matter of time, before he too can no longer tolerate the nonsense and start to stand up for himself, for he now has a family and kids to look after. 20 years is perhaps out of the question, adding a 11th is perhaps a an over-gratification in pandering to Hajime’s every whimsical needs.
For a person who loves creating self-endearing “urban exploration/paranormal” home videos and who once boasted of hacking and bringing down SFOGS, Singapore’s first ever local paranormal stories aggregator website, this could be it – a sad closure of curtains with no exit in sight, no place for a self-obsessed messiah-wannabe of Singapore’s paranormal investigation realm.

Disclaimer:
The above article is not a personal attack nor slander on a single individual, as no real name of the intended subject been mentioned. Any resemblance to intended subject, any person dead or alive, here or abroad is totally coincidental. Recollections are shared from individuals who had come into contact with the said person, over the course of 10 years. We thank everyone who had contributed their side of their story (with eerie similarities). And for Hajime, it would be pointless to seek/know who contributed to this, not his usual guessable suspects, for he has made too many enemies, not within nor out. The loathing is omnipresent.
This article probably would not have existed if a particular person hadn’t thrown money at his own loving mother when all she did was ask nicely for a little allowance. Thus throwing away all the respect he had initially from his peers. For someone who wants and loves to be adored and bask in the spotlight, but abandons at first fright. It's rather difficult. For all he has done digging his own hole deeper, he thought he would be able to get off lightly for stepping on others, in his bid for personal glory. But the past has finally caught up with him.
And we no longer have the desire to continue feeding this troll and his fantasies. He can deny all of the above, all he wants, but the damage has been done. For he is after all, living alone in his own little world.
Please help pass on this message, before this site too gets hacked. As the X-Files tv series saying goes…
